20+ signs that you too are finally growing upadmin
Sorting waste , doing laundry regularly and paying utility bills: these are all signs you ‘re an adult – says a British study.
A survey of 2,000 people in the UK found the 50 characteristics that define (truly) grown people. These include, for example: living in a clean apartment, not always buying the cheapest wine and being happy about things like a new dishwasher .
If you then prefer to stay at home than go out and put away the dishes that same (!) evening, then you are very high on the adult scale.
But at what point do you really become an adult? The study says: from 25 years. At least that’s how most young people feel. Other signs of coming into adulthood include weekly grocery shopping, owning a vacuum, and being able to cook. If you also have a pet and go to bed before 11 p.m., you can collect even more adult points. Hobbies like starting DIY projects around the house at the weekend are another pretty sure sign of growing up.
But for all this you need one thing above all: money. That’s why 6 out of 10 adults say that they first had to reach a financially secure point in life in order to feel like an adult. And that’s getting harder and harder for young people these days.
Here are the most important signs of adulthood summarized again:
