5 morning habits can ruin your day

How you start the day pretty much determines how the rest of your day goes. So, breaking bad habits in the morning has a lot of benefits.

Therefore, you should be careful not to do these things early in the morning:

1. Check the cell phone right away
A mistake we all make: staring at our cell phones as soon as we get up. If you have your alarm clock on your smartphone , you have the worst conditions. A study by the University of British Columbia found that people who check their email several times a day are more stressed. And if you do it right after getting up, you take the stress with you into the day. The to-do list pops up in your mind’s eye and it’s hard to get rid of it. It is therefore better: charge your cell phone in another room, get an old-fashioned alarm clock and only look at the smartphone after you have showered, had coffee, had breakfast and changed your clothes. Your stress level will thank you.

2. Snooze, snooze, snooze
Bad news for all snooze fanatics: if you hit the snooze button too often, you probably didn’t get enough rest overall. Night owls, who then lack energy during the working week, are particularly affected. What’s bad about the snooze button? The alarm clock puts you in a state of stress, and the more you hear it, the more stressed you are. This is not recommended, especially for people with high blood pressure. It is better to get a wake-up light that simulates sunrise.

3. Shower too hot
Yes, unfortunately you also have to say goodbye to the hot shower . Because a shower that is too hot causes skin problems, itching and drying out. It basically destroys the skin’s natural protective barrier and this causes an uncomfortable feeling throughout the day. It is better to set a lukewarm temperature, use gentle cleansing products and not put too much strain on the skin. Don’t forget moisturizer !

4. Skip breakfast
For ten minutes more sleep, many risk breakfast. But that’s not a good idea – because the body needs the energy to start the day well. What’s more, if you don’t eat anything in the morning, you’ll consume more calories throughout the day. But if you can’t get anything down in the morning, you should at least try a small snack and then eat a little more when you feel better. One thing is clear: anything is better than coffee on an empty stomach.

5. Not moving
Stretching exercises in the morning are not just for old people: if you are already struggling with back problems or a stiff neck, you should take a few minutes to stretch your body. And the whole thing can even be done in bed: lie on your back, stretch out your arms and legs, make small circles with your fists and feet – and thus stimulate blood circulation.
