Brief history of the city of Nurembergadmin
Nuremberg is considered one of the most historic cities in Germany . The focus is particularly on the last 100 years. While the city’s development was rather slow in the beginning around 1400 AD, the last 100 years have been so eventful and dramatic at the same time. For this reason, these years should also be considered in particular.
The beginnings of the city and the tough development
Historically, Nuremberg ‘s first years were not able to make such an impact as was the case with other cities. Only the population number can be considered as an important point here. In the development of the city, this factor also played a major role in later events and historical points. At the beginning of the 20th century, the city already had a population of over 400,000.
Nuremberg and history in the 3rd Reich
Nothing shaped the city of Nuremberg as much as the years during the Nazi era. During this time, Nuremberg was not only a symbol for the National Socialists, but was also used for numerous events. Among other things, the big parades and celebrations of the National Socialists also took place here. The most well-known of these is the Nazi Party Day celebrations, which were generally held on the Party Day grounds built for this purpose.
Even today you can see this complex in Nuremberg. In addition to these points, the Nuremberg Laws , named after the city in which they were established, were also enacted. These laws are also known today as the “Jewish Laws” which led to the greatest catastrophe in human history. The fact that this city had such a high status at that time became an important factor for the city even after the war.
The winners judge in Nuremberg
After the end of the Second World War, Nuremberg once again became a city with a special focus. The Nuremberg trials are one reason for this. The Allies and the Soviet Union put Nazi functionaries on trial here. This event dragged on for more than a year. Among others, Hermann Goring and Albert Speer were sentenced here.
It was no coincidence that Nuremberg was used for these processes. It was specifically intended to show that in this city, where the Nuremberg Laws were once enacted, those who had the greatest part in this history are now being sentenced. In the 1950s and 1960s, Nuremberg once again developed into a typical big city. However, the history of the city is preserved and so many people know what happened in Nuremberg at that time.
