Ginger makes you fitter in the morning than coffee

Little or nothing works without coffee . It wakes you up in the morning, also stimulates digestion (you know what we mean) and science regularly assures us that it’s not unhealthy at all. G Scientists published a study in the British Medical Journal , according to which three or four cups of coffee a day have a positive effect on health. But what would life be without variety? We’re not talking about the elaborate cappuccino -latte macchiato-espresso sequence here, but about something completely different: ginger tea, for example.

Office coffee is usually a bit horrible . Because the beans are wrong, the milk isn’t foamy and nobody wants to clean the coffee machine properly. Tea with ginger, on the other hand, is completely independent of office-specific hygiene standards, cheap and also quick and easy – and is at least as good for the body!

Coffee may also make you healthy, but ginger is a true miracle root ( you can find out more about this here ). It contains digestive and stomach-strengthening substances such as borneol and cineol, as well as vitamin C, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, sodium and phosphorus.

The pungent substances shoagol and zingeron give the ginger its spicy-hot taste, which not only harmonizes perfectly with many types of tea, but actually has a health-promoting effect! “Ingredients from ginger are said to inhibit the same enzyme in the body as acetylsalicylic acid , ” says Eugen Verspohl , professor emeritus and pharmacologist at the Pharmaceutical Institute of the University of Münster . And acetylsalicylic acid reduces pain, reduces inflammation and inhibits blood clotting.

Ginger is wonderful for nausea , colds and cold-related pain, but is also a great morning pick-me-up. We recommend one or two slices in a cup of green tea or citrus tea. Mmmm!
