The analysis of the subjects also showed that more than nine hours of sleep increases our risk of a heart attack by 34 percent. Sleeping more than ten hours increases the risk to 52 percent. But, no need to panic, the study also reveals good news: All those who have a genetically higher probability of heart disease can reduce the risk of heart attack by 18 percent – and that just by observing the optimal amount of sleep.
