What topics do you keep secret from your partner?admin
Our partners are often our closest confidants and it is often presented as the ideal relationship that we share EVERYTHING with them. But should we? And is that the reality? ElitePartner asked around 4,000 people in relationships which topics they keep silent about from time to time. Because it’s not quite the way that everyone tells themselves everything. On the contrary: Around 59% of those surveyed stated that they kept secrets from each other.
ravings and problems
One issue that many don’t share with their partners is when they have a crush on someone else. It’s not that rare, though. One in five states that they definitely find someone else attractive. Men with 23% slightly more frequently than women with 16%. However, according to the survey, this does not necessarily lead to people questioning their relationships. Incidentally, this is also reluctant to be addressed out loud and ranks second among the topics that are often kept secret: Doubts about whether the other person is really the right one. Incidentally, men and women ponder this equally often, namely one in six. Around ten percent even find their partners no longer so attractive. That too remains unsaid. Maybe better.
Especially if something bothers you about the other person, it is rarely addressed. Every sixth woman sometimes finds her partner embarrassing, but of course does not tell him that his jokes are actually bad. 9 percent of women also find their partner boring again and again. They don’t really care about the conversations about jobs and hobbies!
You do not talk about money
Those who are now waiting for money to appear on the list of secrets should now get their money’s worth. Because every seventh respondent does not always say honestly how much money is really spent on electronics, gadgets, clothing and going out. Both sexes are equally affected.
What do you want?
How is the bedroom? What is being concealed here? Here it is men in particular who often do not address things. One in five likes to watch porn, but doesn’t admit it. Funnily enough, across all age groups. In addition, every seventh man does not honestly talk about what he would like to try out in bed. What both genders prefer to keep to themselves: Around 6 percent found sex with their ex better. Maybe they should take the secret with them to the grave.
Incidentally, there are a few ugly truths that could be a taboo subject, but fortunately are not: such as youthful sins, a lack of sympathy for in-laws or same-sex fantasies. It is honestly spoken about. Also about the fact that the partner might have a lack of cooking skills. When it comes to the desire to have children, almost everyone is (fortunately!) honest and addresses it directly!
